David Elrod, Part I: Engineering as Ministry & Discovering Purpose in Unexpected Places
In this special episode, David Elrod shares his journey of discovering how his talents in science and technology could be used to serve others through an engineering career. As a young student, he wondered if missions and medicine were the only way to serve God, but through a series of discoveries, his unique role unfolded. After 40 years of industry experience, gaining expertise in the aerospace and defense sector, Dr. Elrod now serves as the Dean of Lipscomb's College of Engineering. He shares the importance of practical service at Lipscomb and how putting together teams of students to use their skills abroad has impacted his life. He also speaks to different forms of innovation and how we can push the envelop for ourselves even before performing on the cutting edge of our industry.
